Sometimes this world brings me down. Hits me so hard can't get my head up off the ground.

Lawman
I pulled up, speakers blastin' out a Rebel yell as the rain poured down on the Astro Motel.  I got out the cash then I got out my gun and I knew from this day forward that I'd always be on the run.
Now it ain't no fun, I'm always on the run.  Lawman, here he come.  This all started as a joke.  Sittin' around drinkin and thinkin' about stealin then fleeing down to Mexico.  I thought that it was crazy and I knew that it was dumb but the mind don't hear no reasoning when the body's full of rum.  Now it ain't no fun, I'm always on the run.  Lawman, here he come.  Drivin' down the Interstate around mile marker 21.  I was wonderin' why I wasn't surprised when I saw the blue light come on. So starin' there in my rear view and strugglin' now with what to do 'cause sign up ahead says 'Son, you'll be dead, if a chase does pursue'.  Now it ain't no fun, I'm always on the run.  Lawman, here he come.  Lawman walked up to my side and said "How do you do?"  I said, "Not bad" as he asked, "Do you know why I stopped you?"  I said, "Yes sir, I think I do, but all that really matters is why did you?" He said, "Step out the car" and that was my cue so I punched the gas like I had nothing to loose.  Now it ain't no fun, I'm always on the run. Lawman, here he come.

Run

I took a walk down a long and winding road just to find myself and where it is I'd go.  Now my feet took me many places and my eyes seen many faces on the run.  And I run far behind just to find, I walk the line.  Yes I run far behind and you know I feel fine.  I took a ride on a railroad track

knowing that I may never come back.  So with a six string in my hand and a master plan I went on the run.  And I run far behind just to find, I walk the line.  Yes I run far behind and you know I feel fine.  I took a flight on an airplane just to see if I was still sane.  And to my surprise, this I did find I nearly lost my mind.  And I run far behind just to find, I walk the line.  Yes I run far behind and you know I feel fine.

Remember Me
She had a two story house just East of Omaha.  And the prettiest smile that your eyes ever saw. And long brown hair that seemed to float in the breeze.  And a look that would drive any seventeen year old to his knees.  And I wonder what she's doin' if she thinks about me 'cause it's been so long but I still feel this need just to pick up the phone, get her all alone and say "Do you remember me?"  Now the years have passed since 1993 and sometimes late at night I can still feel her holding me. 'Cause the smell of her perfume still floats in the breeze.  And as of yet I have not got up from off my knees.  And I wonder what she's doin' if she thinks about me. 
'cause it's been so long but I still feel this need just to pick up the phone, get her all alone and say "Do you remember me?"  The last time I saw her she was with a different guy I thought to myself this ought to be some kind of crime.  'Cause she stole my heart and then she left me here to bleed asking myself this question..."Do you remember me?"

I’m Right
Sometimes it ain't no fun when your back's against the wall, under the gun.  But you keep your head, your chin high knowing the reason if asked why.  'Cause one day you'll find yourself outta here.  Gotta keep your head, gotta keep it clear.  And I know that I'm not always right but a 'for sure' feeling says I'm right tonight.  I know that I'm right tonight.  Circumstance and situations only lead to my frustration but I won't let it get me down.  'Cause I've been so high, I had to walk so low from the mountaintop to the valley below and this is what I found.  One day I'll find myself outta here.  Gotta keep my head, gotta keep it clear.  And I know that I'm not always right but a 'for sure' feeling says I'm right tonight.  Yes I know that I'm right tonight.  Why does it always seem to me the more they're blind the more I see of this that surrounds.  'Cause politicians and religion tryin' to make my decision.  The truth is what I believe.  One day I'll find myself outta here. The Bottle
The lights they seem to burn so dim tonight.  And the glow is gone 'cause she is no where in sight.  She left me all alone once again.  Says "That's the price you pay when the bottle becomes your friend."  Now the cold wind, well it blows so strong as I walk these streets, but no not alone all alone.  'Cause it seems to me that she was right as I find myself holding my friend,

"The Bottle" tonight.  When will I ever learn?  Always in this position of crash and burn.  When will I ever see?  There is no future in my history.  As I sit here singing the same old song and pondering in my mind is it right or is it wrong for her to leave when I have certain company.  Truth is she don't want to see "The Bottle" take over me.  When will I ever learn?  Always in this position of crash and burn.  When will I ever see?  There is no future in my history.

Life’s Lessons
Does me so good to look back on the way things used to be.  Locked in by my sin, blind, for you know I could not, no I could not see.  For I thought I knew it all until life's lessons taught me that my pride comes before my fall.  Hindsight's 20/20 I heard someone say.  And looking back at my steps, I find those words become clearer each and every day.  For I now know. Funny how life's lessons can break you or they make you grow.  Now that I'm older some lessons I've learned. Like playing with fire, I'm bound to get burned.  For I have found  liberty, life, love, freedom unbound.

Breathe

Connection, reflection it's not the same.  So don't tell me this is one big game.  'Cause what I know is what I know and all I know is this.  Yeah there's something much more, much more to this.  'Cause I can feel you breathin'.  And I know what your thinkin'...what's on your mind tonight.  Thoughts transcend all space and time.  Communication by miles of phone line.  I tell you all that's within nothing that I hold.  Finding confession so good for my soul.  'Cause I can feel you breathin'.  And I know what your thinkin'...what's on your mind tonight.  When will I learn that the page that I turn won't burn me?  When will I see that to let go of me I'd be free.  'Cause to not try means that I'd surely die inside.  So here I stand again exposing my sin while knowing...what's on your mind tonight.

Lamp by the mirror burns so bright.  Eyes are closed, x-ray vision I see through the night.  The thought of you I can't forget as you lie close to me.  Pale white skin glows from the moonlight streak.  You're all mine and for this I'd be a vagabond with no place to call his own, no place to call his home.  My lover, I'd do anything for you.  Call the sky green, yeah, the grass blue.  And for this I'll never forget as you lie close to me.  Your skin I'll soak in.  I feel my love for you will never end.  And for this I have no regret as you lie close to me.  Your eyes they hypnotize.  I hold my breath as I realize.  I'm half a man without you.  You complete me through and through.  You complete me through and through.  You complete me through and through.

I wanted to write you a love song but I didn't know where to start to tell you how I feel and the expressions of my heart.  I could have some words maybe a nice cliché but that ain't really justice, no for what it is I want to say.  'Cause your eyes, they remind me of the deep blue sea. 
Sailing on a vessel on a warm summer day guided by your love and a gentle breeze.  Yes I'm lost in your ocean, on a sea of tranquility.  I said I'm lost in your ocean but I feel so free.  I wanted to write you a love song but the words they came out all wrong 'cause the verse was kind of short and the chorus was way too long.  So I balled it up and I threw it away.  It might come back to me another day but if it don't well that will be okay 'cause this is what I was going to say.
